AIS Ltd was originally founded to provide tractors, handlers and manure spreaders for hire throughout the Midlands area. The company tried several makes of tractors, settling firmly on the John Deere range because of its reliability, performance, high resale value and low maintenance costs. Our customers kept asking for John Deere equipment in preference to other makes, so when the local John Deere dealer closed down, and the opportunity arose for AIS to become a retail outlet, we did not hesitate.
AIS has since grown to employ 20 full time staff, fully trained in all aspects of new and used tractor and machinery sales, hire, parts and service. The business has evolved into a major regioal distributor of machinery, not only from John Deere, but from its other premium product franchises including Bailey Trailers, Chilton, Grimme, Kverneland, Simba, Spearhead and Stihl.
In February 2008 the total ownership of AIS was acquired by Simon Clarke, an established local farmer and businessman, who saw the potential in the business to grow even further and to expand its product portfolio without damaging the company’s hard earned and all important reputation for after sales service.
